Garrett's Restaurant and Bar: Your Go-To Spot for Cocktails and Comfort Food in Rockford

I’ve hit a few rounds at the driving range. I will also say I’ve received bad service here and good service. Tonight it was good. I was there with family previously, three families with two kids. Tonight it was just a work related dinner. I think the inconsistency here deserves the star ratings.

First time visiting this restaurant. I liked the Thai Noodle bowl and thought it was a 4, my husband had a hamburger with shoestring onions. He rated it a 3, since the roll was dried out and the onion shoestrings undercooked. We went on a Thursday night without reservations and they had no problem seating the six of us. They have a nice beer selection, however, one of the beers on tap, that two of our party had, found that it was somewhat flat. I had the Blake’s Triple Jam Hard Cider and it was OK. Found it to be a very light light light cider. (Too light for my liking) Our server was OK, she forgot a few things and we had to remind her of them. I ordered one of the signature pastas which states it comes with bread, if you choose the salad, and I had to ask for it. I was told that they normally don’t serve the bread unless you specifically ask for the bread. When she brought the bread to the table, she told me that they were the last two pieces they had available that day. I liked their menu choices and will definitely give them another try.

I highly recommend the Pesto and Brie Chicken Sandwich. I just happened to be in town meeting family halfway and we decided to check out Garrett’s for lunch. The staff were friendly. Most of the food was delicious (I felt the spinach dip was a bit too thick) and the view was pretty nice outside. It overlooks a golf course and as a Florida city boy, getting a clear sky with an open field isn’t something I get to see all the time. I definitely recommend Garrett’s for lunch. Check it out.

We decided to visit this place for a drink on their patio, and it turned out to be a delightful experience. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the 19th Hole Margarita was both refreshing and tasty. The service provided was good, and we couldn't help but notice how delicious the food looked and smelled. Needless to say, we'll definitely be returning to try their enticing menu.

This place is great. The food and service are always excellent. I can't wait for the patio to be open this spring and summer. An absolute gem in Rockford.

I came to Garrett’s with a group and enjoyed my experience. This restaurant was quite busy, so I’m grateful that we reserved a table in advance. We shared the Haystack Onion Rings ($8.99) and the Crispy Dynamite Shrimp ($13.99). The shrimp was my favorite. Well cooked and flavorful. I also ordered the Thai Chicken Chop Chop ($15.99) and a NZ white wine. I wish I could remember the name of the wine because I loved it! I don’t enjoy sweet wines and this one was quite dry. The salad was also super tasty! It could do without so many wontons and could use a bit more sauce, but altogether, I enjoyed the flavors. The staff was kind and patient and the space was clean and well decorated. I would recommend this restaurant.

Really nice restaurant and atmosphere overlooking the driving range! Decent prices, daily specials, and a very diverse menu selection, large dining area!!

Probably what I like most about this place was the location. Its on the outskirts of Rockford on a driving range. You can walk right out the back entry and hit golf balls. It has a quiet and chill atmosphere. The service was solid so no complaints there. We sat outside and the weather was beautiful. The food was good, but not necessarily great. The prices are a little high for me, but not too bad.
